About Me
Hi! My name is Scot, and I am a certified Professional Ethical Dog Trainer through the Nordic Education Centre for Ethical Dog Training.
To complete the final level of my professional education program and earn my certification as a Dog Behavior Specialist, I am required to conduct a number of behavioral consultations. I am offering these consultations to selected applicants in the Chicago area for free.
Free?! What’s The Catch?
There’s no catch, I promise! You’ll be helping me fulfill my program requirements, and in return, you’ll receive a thorough observational analysis conducted by a certified trainer who has worked with dozens of dogs with a broad range of behavioral challenges. There truly are no strings attached—if selected for a free consultation, you will be under no obligation to purchase anything or commit to any further services.
Location and Duration of Consultation Sessions
In order to observe your dog in a neutral environment, the consultations will be conducted away from your home. Depending on weather and other factors, your consultation will take place in either Skokie or Northfield. Please do not fill out an application if you are unable to make the commute to either of those locations WITH your dog.
You can expect the session to last anywhere from 2-4 hours.

The Dog-Friendly Family is a one-of-a-kind, whole-family education program focused on reducing household stress for dogs and their families. Launching later in 2026, The Dog-Friendly Family’s goal is to help parents raise both kids who respect dogs, and dogs who feel safe at home.
